ELLOUISE PATTERN
Ellouise Patton was the Regional Political and Community Coordinator for the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW Local 5). In that position, she planned and implemented public service events, established and maintained relationships with community based organizations through community convening and worked with elected officials within the nine Bay Area counties to address employment and workforce policy issues. Ellouise was a member of the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board, a policy entity that addresses service delivery within the county’s One-Stop employment delivery system. She was elected as a delegate to the National Democratic
Convention in 2012, appointed as Democratic State Delegate in 2013 is a member of the NAACP, CBTU, serves as a delegate for the San Mateo and Alameda Labor councils and remains a volunteer community advocate.
Ellouise is the former Executive Director of San Francisco’s Young Community Developers, Inc.(YCD), served as a Human Rights Commissioner in the City of San Francisco , Kamala Harris’ Task Force to End the Exploitation of Girls, Juvenile Probation Commissioner and Mayor Gavin Newsome’s Taskforce for Emancipated Youth . She has implemented and facilitated successful Homeless Programs achieved Community Benefit Agreements and developed several successful sector specific pre-employment training programs benefiting both youth and adults.
For over 20 years Ellouise has demonstrated her commitment to social justice and a vision for future generations through continued work with disenfranchised communities towards employment and educational equity; by developing community partnerships and a city wide consortium to achieve these goals; to work towards fruition of employment training programs that are focused on creating opportunities for economically and socially disadvantaged populations; negotiating community benefits agreements impacting low and no wage earners allowing them participate fully and equitably in society; by being the vehicle of expression for those who can't speak for themselves.
